Velvet is a woven fabric with a dense, soft pile that gives it a luxurious, cozy feel. The pile refers to the upright loops of thread that stick up from the base fabric. The pile is created using a special weaving technique that winds an extra set of warp threads around a wire, which is then cut to create the pile. This process is called cut pile weaving and produces the short, plush pile that is characteristic of velvet. The denser and more evenly cut the pile, the softer and more lustrous the velvet will be.

Density: The density of the velvet is usually between 200 and 400 strands/cm2. The higher the density, the tighter the touch and warmth.

Velvet length: short velvet is usually 0.5mm-1mm, medium velvet is 1mm-2mm, and long velvet can reach more than 2mm.

Thin and light: The thickness is about 0.8-1.2 mm, suitable for clothing and home fabrics with good breathability.

Medium and thick: The thickness is about 1.3-1.8 mm, with good warmth retention, widely used in home textiles and winter clothing.

Thickened: The thickness exceeds 1.8 mm, mainly used for high-end curtains, sofa covers, and thermal insulation products.
