What is Polar fleece?

Fleece fabric-Polar fleece, referred to as fleece : Also known as double-sided brushed cloth or polar fleece, it is a soft, synthetic fiber cloth with fluff on the surface, made of polyethylene terephthalate (English: Polyethylene terephthalate , abbreviated PET).The first fleece was invented in 1979 by Malden Mills. Fleece has some of the advantages of wool, but is much lighter than wool.

However, plush woven garments using wool or cotton existed long before Chouinard's wool and even fisherman's sweaters. Some notable examples are plush woven military-lined jackets and faux-fur hooded jackets. Compared to these products, the innovation of "Fleece" by "Chouinard" lies in its water repellency and the use of synthetic fibers to achieve this.

"Fleece" has the same characteristics of insulation and durability as wool (Wool), but is lighter and has fast drying properties, so it is called a miracle synthetic fiber.
